Assault Shirts Development Day 13

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I’ve been working non-stop the past week trying to finish up the site programming and design work along with skinning an entire wordpress blog. I can barely feel my eyes, and I’m pretty sure everyone thinks I’m going crazy with all the skulls I keep adding, but they just look so good everywhere! Launch date for the site is November 15th so Craig and I can make some cash for the Holiday season on our awesomely offensive t-shirts which I still have to design.

Is that wrong? To design the website before doing the actual t-shirts? It just felt like a good motivating factor. In the meantime here’s some info about our shirts:

  • They’re going to be American Apparel because those shirts are the best quality.
  • We’re going to have 6 designs to start.
  • We’re going to have 4 sizes, S-XL.
  • 96 quantity for the shirts, if those sell out we’ll order more!
  • The T-Shirt store is using OSCommerce with PHP and MySQL. I’ve highly customized the whole thing. My neck hurts just thinking about sitting upright in this damn chair any longer.
  • I listened to Atreyu, Killswitch Engage, and the Black Keys when doing the designs. I watched the movie Nosferatu, Shadow of the Vampire, 28 Days later, and Chupacabra Terror. I’m sure I snuck a few other movies in there as well like Dead or Alive
  • The store is using the following contributions (That I can remember) Products RSS, FlickR Photo Plugin with some custom CSS, GD Auto Thumbnail, some Dynamic Drive gallery javascript, Simple Template System, Sifr, Header Tags Controller, Ultimate Images, USPS Shipping Module, Paypal payment module, Attributes Sort, Also Purchased Module, and that’s about all I can remember off the top of my head.
  • If you like the store and want custom work or want a store just like it, email me, I’ll send you the code. There’s no way I’m going to go back and ever go through that again. From now on I’ll be hiring my programmers

Things to do before the store launch:

  • Get a merchant account at a bank
  • Get a loan
  • Get T-Shirts printed
  • Holy shit I still haven’t designed the shirts yet
  • Create a submission area so everyone can submit their badass ideas
  • Fill in Content for the FAQ and About pages (those are pretty similiar now that I think of it, maybe I’ll ditch one)
  • Take some pictures of hot chicks wearing our shirts so you guys will actually keep visiting our site
  • Finish putting in meta keywords
  • Learn what a business plan is
  • Get more than 4 hours of sleep
